If you are looking for a car that is both fast and economic are your choices limited? Well no not really. However it does depend if you want a new car or a used one.
A great recommended car for a brand new buy is a Renault Clio 1.5 Dynqmique. This is not the fastest car on the market however on highways only gives you 72mpg if you are traveling at 80mph. None highway driving also gives you good mpg rate. It is also priced very reasonably.
If you are on the look out for a used care then the BMW 330D offers great value, or you could opt for an Audi A4 Cabriolet convertible. Both are reasonable priced in the second hand car market and are very economic.
Forbes magazine have nominated their list of the 10 best economic cars. Results were:
1. Toyota Yaris,
2. Honda Fit,
3. Toyota Corolla,
4. Nissan Versa,
5. Chevrolet Aveo,
6. Ford Focus,
7. Toyota Matrix,
8. Kia Rio,
9. Hyundai Accent,
10. Pontiac Vibe.
As you can see having a fast car does not mean you have to choose one that is not cheap to run. There are plenty of cars to choose from and the only thing that really restricts you is your budget.
