Since its release, Apple CarPlay has received a lot of interest, but, despite the successful incorporation of CarPlay in almost every leading car manufacturer’s designs, many people may still be unsure of what it actually is.
Well, with CarPlay, Apple has essentially presented a smarter and safer way of using a mobile phone while driving. It is an infotainment system that allows you to make phone calls, write texts and change various settings without even taking your hands off the steering wheel, reducing the risk of car-related accidents. If you have an iPhone, you will be connect it via USB to any car that is supported.
Do you often get bored of listening to the same old music and repetitive adverts on the radio? Well, with Apple CarPlay you can access all of the content from your iTunes and Apple Music accounts, and you can even ask Siri to play your favourite songs as well! Or, supposing you need a bit of guidance when you can’t seem to find your way, CarPlay is equipped with a satellite navigation app, so, there’s no need to panic about getting lost in an unfamiliar place.
‘It’s a great piece of technology and a necessity for any future car, reducing car accidents is obviously the most important thing to manufacturers, and to do that along with making it appealing to customers, it helps us out to, the ones selling the car.’ said Tony of California Car and Commercials on the subject.
If you struggle to resist the temptation of checking your phone in the car when you hear a notification tone indicating that you have a text message, or a social media notification, Apple’s system has a much safer solution for you. By pressing the voice control button on your steering wheel, you can command Siri to compose a message or read one aloud. Those who have Apple CarPlay, will never have to look at their iPhone while they are driving again!
Apple CarPlay was created to enable motorists to focus on driving, leaving the little distractions behind them! It is a simple and effective system to manage, allowing you to use voice activation to control all of the different settings, so that you don’t have to take your eyes off of the road for a second.
There are other methods of activating CarPlay, like touchscreen control or the manual dials and buttons in your car as well. How you use the infotainment system is down to personal preference, but however you operate it, you can rest assured that it will be much less risky than if you were to use your mobile phone.
